Bob has been involved in the shooting sports competitively and for fun for more than 50 years, winning many trophies and awards and enjoying all types of firearms.
Shooting
Bob was also an avid motorcycle rider and (when younger) a racer in Scrambles (now called Motocross).He has owned a wide range of cycles from dirt bikes to GoldWings and Harleys. Bob has also built an award-winning Springer Softail from the frame up, a.k.a. the "Buckeye Bike" (below).
Bob is a pilot ( single and multi-engine) and has held Instument and Flight Instructor ratings. He is still active as an A&P mechanic and holds an FAA Inspection Authorization to perform maintenance and Annual Inspections on planes. Bob has owned 11 planes from a Piper Cub to a Cessna 310 multi- engine and a "hot rod" Globe Swift in the middle.

In the early 1960's Bob was a Counter-Intelligence Specialist in the U.S. Army Security Agency and served in Germany and Viet Nam.
In the early 1980's Bob was a Corporal in the Ohio Army National Guard working on helicopters at OSU airport.
In the mid 1980's Bob was a Sergeant serving as a Combat Arms Instructor in the U.S. Air Force Reserve at Rickenbaker Air Force Base in Lockbourne.
In the late 1980's Bob was a Captain serving as a Search and Rescue pilot with the Civil Air Patrol (U.S.Air Force Auxillary) at Rickenbacker AFB.

Bob is a currently-licensed Amateur (Ham) radio operator with a General Class license. Bob was first licensed in 1965 as a Technician Class Ham receiving call sign WA2RVX (New York). Moving to Ohio and upgrading to General Class Bob retained his original call sign. Bob can be found on 2, 6, 10, 15 and 40 meters with a Kenwood TS-2000 and 2 meters (mobile) with a Yaesu FT-2900R/E.

Bob has built custom cars and "hot rods." His 2 best were a 1956 Chevy show custom and a 1950 Chevy modified with a '57 Chevy drive train (4:11 rear) and a 327 V8 with two 4 bbl. carbs.
